Long live the analog GIF

We first spotted the Nishika N8000 when we met creative John Ogunmuyiwa manning the Pitcher & Pencil at D&AD festival.

With its irresistibly retro 1989 design we just had to find out why he’d chosen that camera to document the festival.

Originally designed to produce 3D printed pictures, John reckons the camera’s resurgence is down to creating “analogue gifs”.

But for us it’s not so much the technology that has captivated us, but rather, the unique treatment John gives his images: punchy, packed with attitude and a twist of his irreverent signature throughout.
